Dorothy M. Foreman

Dorothy M. Foreman, age 64 of Baylis, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. Born on August 7, 1961, in Pittsfield to Berlyn “Buck” and Doris Barnes Thomas, she married Donald Foreman on January 21, 1989, at Pittsfield First Christian Church. He survives her.

A 1979 graduate of Pittsfield High School, Dorothy was a hardworking woman who spent many years employed at Tate Cheese and The Nature House in Griggsville. She was an avid reader who found great joy in the company of children and animals. Above all, she cherished her role as a devoted wife and the simple, quiet life she built in the country.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Donald Foreman; her mother, Doris Thomas; brothers Berlyn (Becky) Thomas and Clyde Thomas; sisters Brenda McCann and Barbara (Frank) Lightle; mother-in-law Sharon Six; sister-in-law Shelley Meyers; numerous nieces and nephews; and her many beloved furry companions. She was preceded in death by her father, Berlyn “Buck” Thomas; twin children in infancy; father-in-law Donald “Peachy” Foreman; stepfather-in-law Richard Six; and brother-in-law Kevin McCann.
