Camdenton, MO

Dorothy Magdalene (Duvall) Boring, age 90, of Camdenton, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Born on May 21, 1935, in Galesburg, Kansas, she was reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Jimmie L. Boring. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimbo Boring; her parents, Oliver and Bertha Duvall; and her siblings Paul, MaryAnn, Carl, Oliver, Christena, Martin, and Ruth.

Even in her later years, Dorothy embraced life with remarkable energy and enthusiasm. For the last eight years she shared many adventures with her late-life partner, Bob Fairchild, traveling the country on bus tours. She approached each journey with a lively spirit, making friends easily and turning the open road into a place of connection and joy. A beloved figure at the Elks Lodge, she danced with rhythm and grace, enjoyed lively games of Texas Hold ’em, and remained an active swimmer who loved to read and care for wildlife, especially hummingbirds.

Dorothy enjoyed a long career at Wilcox Electric Inc./Northrup Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. She was known for her warmth and hospitality, welcoming family and friends into her home for lake activities and hunting gatherings. A gifted cook, she prepared handcrafted noodles, fried fish, comfort foods, baked goods, and hosted an annual fish fry and fireworks that became a cherished tradition. She was also an accomplished crocheter whose handmade items brought comfort to many, including veterans.

As the matriarch of a five-generation family, Dorothy is survived by her brother, Bob Duvall and wife Judy of Kearney, Missouri; daughters Linda McCay of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Sandy Frakes and favorite son-in-law James Frakes of Riverside, Missouri; grandchildren James Worley and wife Jennifer Nugent, Stephen Worley and wife Ana and sons, JR Frakes, and Cathi Aldrich and husband Brian; great-grandchildren Miranda Worley, Danielle Caldwell and husband Dustin, Jay and Jaxon Frakes; and great-great-grandchildren Rhett, Stetson, Callahan, and Enora Caldwell. She leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives were enriched by her generous spirit.
