Dorothy Lynnette Childers
Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi on July 14, 1942, Lynnette passed away peacefully at home in Edgefield County, the morning of March 13, 2026. She was the daughter of Joseph Calvin Ball and Vivian Kathryn Ball. She was preceded in death by her, parents and two sisters Pat and Jean.
Lynnette was a devoted wife of Nelson V. Childers and would have been celebrating 67 years of marriage this year. Their children include Lee Ann Anderson of North Augusta, SC, Calvin Vernon Childers (Brenda) of Edgefield, SC, Stanley Eric Childers (Virginia) North Augusta, SC, and Christina Lynn Willing (Terry).
Lynnette was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Grandchildren are Garrett Anderson, Michael (Lake) Anderson, Courtney Ellsworth, Jason (Jessica) Childers, Brian (Megan) Childers, Jamie (Aaron) Peck, Joshua Childers, Erica Childers, Jonathan Willing, and Russell Willing. Great grandchildren are Coralena Ellsworth, Kyle Childers, Kaden Childers, Kinsley Childers, Brooks Childers, Carson Peck, Lillie Peck, Sadie Peck, Sophie Peck, and Christian Willing.
Lynnette was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was a former hairdresser in North Augusta at Le Petite Salon for many years. She loved to crochet, knit, and sew special gifts for family. She also loved cooking for family, and especially for holidays and family gatherings.
The family will have a private ceremony at Sweetwater Baptist Cemetery in North Augusta, SC on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
