Dorothy L. Moore

Mrs. Dorothy Lorene Moore, age 93, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Norton Shores, Michigan. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 9, 1932 to George and Bertha (Oguin) Lambert. On January 31, 1953, Dorothy married Arthur S. Moore in Piggott, Arkansas and they enjoyed 57 years together prior to his passing in 2011. Dorothy graduated from cosmetology school and was self-employed for more than 15 years. Earlier in her career, she worked as a waitress at The Prime Rib and as a cashier at Meijer. Dorothy enjoyed shopping with her sisters and spending time at the beach. She was a wonderful cook, known especially for her Southern dishes and homemade pies. Above all else, Dorothy cherished her family. She took great joy in supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved attending their many activities. She is survived by three children, Michael (Twila) Moore, David Moore, and Kim (Doug) Zimmer; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Steph) Moore, Jason Moore, Joshua (Lisa) Moore, Jacob (Tara) Zimmer, Kyle (Audri Muniz) Zimmer, and Lindsay (Stephen) Mirsberger; 11 great grandchildren, Madison, Michael, Carson, Chase, Mackenzie, Finley, Colton, Graham, Nora, Molly, and Annie; and sister, Barbara DePouw. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Thelma Shrum, George Lambert, and Robert Lambert. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Dorothy's FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2026 at The Lee Chapel. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery.
