Dorothy James Cullison
July 4, 1939— March 8, 2026
Jonesboro, AR
Dorothy James Cullison, 86, of Jonesboro, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born on July 4, 1939, in Black Rock to Virgil and Ollie Robertson, she spent her early years on a rice farm, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for hard work and dedication. A resident of Jonesboro for the past 30 years, she previously lived in Cash. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and farmer, and a faithful member of Northside Church of Christ.
She held a pilot’s license and was an active member of a bowling league in the 1960s. Dorothy loved to travel, with Hawaii as her favorite destination. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, creating countless memories around the table playing Scrabble, where she was famous for winning every game and good-naturedly enduring her family’s jokes that she never cheated.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Charles Robertson, Mary Easley, and Sue Lamberth; a great-grandson, Myles Cullison; and her dearest friend, Mazie Henry.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Derrick (Andrea) Cullison and Darren Cullison, both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Garrett (Kristen) Cullison and Jacob (Sarah) Cullison, both of Jonesboro, Hunter Cullison of Ruston, Louisiana, and Hayley (Ryan) Tripod of Van Buren; and great-grandchildren, Greyson, Harrison, Elijah, Isaac, and Isabelle.
