Dorothy Ione Gibson, 85, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on May 17, 1940, in Wellsville, New York, she was the daughter of Harold F. and Helen Ruth Willard Brown.
A graduate of Wellsville High School, Dorothy worked at Arkport Central School, where she touched the lives of many through her dedication and warm presence. She was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church, finding strength and fellowship in her faith. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and board games, and she embraced the adventure of skiing. Above all, her family remained the heart of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gibson; her children, Steve (Ann) Curry and Jeffrey (Mary Alice) Curry; and her siblings, Kathy Twombly and Susan Willard. She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Shaun Clark, Brandon Clark, Samantha Hale, Michael Curry, Sabrina Curry, Elizabeth Curry, Olivia Bellemore, Travis Curry, Emily Curry, Krysten Curry, and Trevor Curry; her great-grandchildren, Caleb Price, Ethan Clark, Tyler Clark, Samantha Clark, Emerson Clark, Gina Hale, Dylan Curry, Elliot Bellemore, Matthew Bellemore, and Olivia Wright; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Richard W. Curry; her daughter, Patricia Ann Clark; her son, Robert James Curry; her granddaughter, Tracy Marie Curry; her great-granddaughter, Patricia Clark; her parents, Harold and Helen Brown; and her brothers, Harold Brown, Jr. and David Brown. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose gentle spirit and kind heart brought joy to all who knew her.
