Dorothy (Dot) F. Hancock, 76, of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Lucy Smith Hospice Center in Henderson, Kentucky.
Born on September 13, 1949, in Morganfield to the late Robert G. Frazier and Florence E. Frazier, Dorothy professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with Carr’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. There she remained a faithful servant for the rest of her life, serving joyfully on the usher board and in the choir. She later served as president of the senior choir, the We Can Do Club, and the mothers board, where she was lovingly known as a Mother of the Church. She offered wisdom, prayer, and encouragement to generations of members.
She attended Union County High School and worked at Movac and Earle Clements Job Corps before finding her true calling at Higgins Learning Center, where she devoted more than ten years to caring for residents with compassion and agape love. Known for her generous heart and selfless spirit, Dorothy was a pillar in her community who opened her door to anyone in need.
Family, friends, and fellowship were at the center of her heart. At seventeen she met the love of her life, Moses E. Hancock, Sr., and they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage blessed with four children. She treasured time with loved ones and had a special gift for bringing joy, laughter, and light to every room.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Jacques “Scooby” Hancock, and her siblings Thelma, Melvin, Tracy, and Robert Frazier, Jr.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Moses E. Hancock, Sr.; her children Renee White (Tim) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Moses E. Hancock, Jr. (Tamara) of Morganfield, Kentucky, and Deanna Rose of Raleigh, North Carolina, along with son-in-law John Rose of Raleigh; eight cherished grandchildren, Natasha White-Anderson, Adrian White, Desiree Hancock, Monique Hancock, Tre Hancock, Jalin Hancock, Nylah Rose, and A’myiah Rose, and three bonus grandchildren, Eric Sauls, Tameisha Willett, and Annisha Willett; sixteen adored great-grandchildren; and her loving siblings who shared an unbreakable bond with her: twin sister Martha Alvis, Jerry Frazier (LaSaundra) of Sturgis, Kentucky, James, Brenda, Karen, and Stacey Frazier of Morganfield, Curtis Frazier of Henderson, Kentucky, Terry Frazier of Louisville, Kentucky, Elma Willett (Robert) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Sharon Frazier of Raleigh, North Carolina, and sister-in-law Ann Frazier of Fort Washington, Maryland.
