Moncks Corner, SC

Dorothy Ernestine Lee Renne', age 88, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday evening at a hospital in North Charleston. Born on October 13, 1937, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of Vernon D. Lee and Ann Estelle Purvis Lee.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Dorothy co-owned and operated Ideal Business Machines with her family before retiring as an administrative assistant from Newberry County Water and Sewer. Deeply rooted in her Baptist faith, she found quiet joy in thrifting and antiquing, fishing on the lake, and preparing generous meals for family and friends. She held a special fondness for fudgesicles, York Peppermint Patties, cherry Pepsi, and the music of Elvis Presley. Above all, her heart belonged to her grandchildren, whom she cherished with profound devotion.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted daughter, Dena R. Harris of Moncks Corner; her sisters, Valynda Ham of Hanahan and Joan Lee Noll (Mike) of Sullivan's Island; her brothers, Raymond Lee of Neptune Beach, Florida, and John David Lee of Moncks Corner; and her treasured grandchildren: Jessie Shealy (Chad), Amy L. Renne' (Blake), Steven P. Walker (Megan), John M. Renne' (Jhovie), Michael A. Renne', Ashley T. Renne', and Leah R. Borden. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren—Alana (Adrian) St. Marie, Allie Grace Shealy, Kayleigh Ulmer, Casey C. Walker, Solara Renne', and Lucy A. Walker—and joyfully anticipated the arrival of another great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Jacob Renne'; her sons, Johnny Lee Renne' and Michael Kevin Renne'; her sister, Peggy Lee Brant; and her brothers, Robert E. Lee, James Lee, and Kenny Lee. Dorothy's legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
