Dorothy Cranford, age 85, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and a longtime resident of Perrin, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on September 14, 1940, in Mineral Wells, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank and Juanita (Dalton) Clark. A graduate of Mineral Wells High School and Weatherford College of Nursing, Dorothy married Weldon Cranford on March 1, 1958, in Perrin, Texas.
She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Perrin and lived her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A caring nurse and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, Dorothy worked alongside her husband on the family farm while creating a warm and welcoming home. She treasured her family above all and cherished the 62 years she shared in marriage with Weldon.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Weldon, and her brother Lon Clark. She is survived by her daughters, Lyndie Stephens (Alan) and Lorraine Seay (Dan); grandchildren, Rance Seay (Ashley), Rachel Hunter (John), Aaron Stephens (Suzan), and Andrew Stephens; great-grandchildren, Shiloh, Ivy, Vera, Harper, Emma, and Nolan; and many other extended family members and friends.
