Dorothy Beatty ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dusckas Funeral and Cremation Services Harborcreek on Mar. 17, 2026.Dorothy "Dot" Beatty, age 100, of Harborcreek, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, March 16, 2026. Born September 15, 1925, to John and Lottie Blair, Dot was a woman of brilliance, confidence and integrity. A proud Academy High alumna, she carried her school pride with her, even singing her Alma Mater at her 100th birthday party.In 1948, she married Arthur Beatty, her partner of 73 years until his death in 2021. Together, they co-founded A.R. Beatty Diesel, Inc in 1953. Dot was the company's backbone for 60 years, until retiring at age 90.Dot shared her love of gardening with the community as a long-time member of Gospel Hill Garden Club, where she served as President and the resident "go-to" for all questions. Her expertise was recognized state-wide as a Protocol Chairman for the PA Federation State Garden Club Board, she was awarded the prestigious State Life Membership and also belonged to Erie County Judges Council as a Master Flower Show Judge. She was also an avid golfer and lifetime member of Gospel Hill Golf Course, winning many tournaments including in the EDWGA interclub tournaments. In the winters, Dot and Art escaped the cold to Florida where they made many friends and enjoyed fishing and shelling on their boat, especially with their grandchildren. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, from serving as PTO President at Brookside Elementary School to cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at countless sporting events and activities.Dot is survived by three sons, David (Joyce), Scott (Elaine), and Jeff (Vickie); five grandchildren, Jennifer, Mindy, Robyn, Troy and Dawn; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and brothers, William and Robert Blair.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Brevillier Village who took special care of Dot and made her feel at home there.Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.) on Friday, March 20th, from 4 to 7 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday, March 21st, at 10 am conducted by Deacon Chuck Adamczyk.
