Doris Rebecca Roberts

March 10, 1930 March 13, 2026

Clarksville, TN

Doris Roberts of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away and joined her loving husband, Jimmy Roberts, in Heaven. Jimmy had preceded her in death on December 29, 2018. Together they shared a deep dedication to their faith and remained active in their church throughout their lives.

Born in Humphreys County, Tennessee to Dutch and Christine Forrester, Doris was a devoted mother who raised three sons: Joe Anthony of Waverly, Tennessee, James Ray of Wichita, Kansas, and David Alan Littleton of Clarksville, Tennessee. Joe and James preceded her in death, while David and his wife Faye remained by her side. Her sons were the center of her world. She was also preceded by her brother Harris Forrester of Chattanooga, Tennessee, her nephew James Kantor, and two great-nieces from St. Cloud, Minnesota. Doris shared a special bond with her sister Peggy Jo Sovde of St. Cloud, Minnesota, affectionately calling each other “Sister.”

Doris and Jimmy were known as Granny Doris and Granddaddy Jim to their three grandchildren, Patsy, Gwen, and Alan, and their six great-grandchildren, Gage, Aidan, Georgia, Davin, Reagan, and Lucy Belle. Their home was filled with laughter, good food, and cherished stories during family holidays, creating memories that will last a lifetime. In retirement, they opened Frames by Doris in Waverly, where they enjoyed framing pictures, art, and collectibles while staying active in their community. After moving to Clarksville, they continued to build meaningful friendships. Doris held a special place in her heart for her dear friend Melanie Mendoca, with whom she shared many breakfast outings and life’s moments, always looking forward to their next visit.

Doris will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
