Doris Ohe ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Mar. 13, 2026.Doris Ohe, 91, of Fargo, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Elim Care Center in Fargo, under the compassionate care of Elim staff and HIA Hospice.Doris was born on September 18, 1934, in Fargo, ND, to William and Lou Ceil (Smith) Wallace. She grew up on a farm near Buffalo, ND, and graduated from Fingal High School in 1951. She went on to earn her nursing degree in 1954 from the Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fargo. Doris began her career as a registered nurse at St. John's Hospital in Fargo before moving to Jamestown in 1956 to work at Trinity Hospital.On June 27, 1959, she married Dennis Ohe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. Together, they built a loving home and raised their family in Jamestown. From 1981 to 1996, Doris shared her knowledge and passion for healthcare as a teacher at James Valley Career and Tech Center. After retiring, she and Dennis moved back to Fargo in 1998. Following Dennis's passing in 2004, Doris continued to live independently until moving to Touchmark in 2015 and later to Elim Care Center in 2024.An active member of her faith community, Doris was involved with Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown and later with Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo. She loved gardening, playing cards, bingo, and trivia, and she took great joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in all their activities.Doris is survived by her son, Tom Ohe (GayLynn Shea-Piechaczek) of Tempe, AZ, and daughter, Rachel Posch of Fargo; grandchildren Hawlie (J.P.) Benedict, Kristen (Josh Ellens) Ohe, Brittany (Miles Hew) Ohe, Matt (Rosari) Posch, Ben (Jessica) Posch, Jordan (Katherine) Posch, Bobby Posch, and Zach (Quinn Reamer) Posch; great-grandchildren Beau, Rhys, Neli, Beckett, James, and Julia; sister Eileen (John) Stangeland of West Fargo; sister-in-law Rosemarie Wallace of Bismarck; sister-in-laws Arlys Ohe of Moorhead and Kathy Huseby of Moorhead.She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Dennis; sister Betty (Patrick) Fradet; brother Billy Wallace; sister-in-law Evangeline Bakken; brother-in-laws Douglas Bakken, Gerald Ohe and Ron Ohe.Doris will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and love for family and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hearts in Action Hospice (https://www.hiahealth.org) or Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo (https://www.atonementfargo.org).Funeral Services: 10:30a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo.Visitation: An hour before the service.West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Centerwestfuneralhome.comTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Doris Ohe, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
