Doris M. Blocher, 91, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, entered God’s eternal care on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace in Hanover.
Born on November 20, 1934, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Anna P. (Legore) Miller. Doris was the loving wife of the late Larry G. Blocher; the couple shared 65 years of marriage until his passing on August 13, 2024.
A 1953 graduate of Hampstead High School in Hampstead, Maryland, Doris enjoyed a long and varied career, retiring in 2000 after working at P & L Snacks, the Palmyra School District, the South Western School District, the Hanover Public School District, Black & Decker, and Commercial Credit. A devoted member of St. Mark’s U.C.C. in Snydersburg, Maryland, she sang in the church choir and served as secretary of the Sunday School. She had a lifelong love of travel, visiting all 50 states and more than 20 countries, but found her greatest joy in the company of her family and friends.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Darlene Klenk and husband Jeff, and Brenda Burns and husband Jerry, Jr.; four grandchildren, Courtney Burns, Katelyn Gray (Kevin), Jeremy Burns, and Tyler Klenk (Madison); four great-grandchildren, Lillian, Harrison, Jameson, and Weston, with twins on the way; her siblings, Mary Lou Winter, Donna Jones, Carla Franklin, Barbara Leedy, and Jerry Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Graf and Janet Lang, and a brother, Earle Miller.
