Doris Louise Davis

Doris Louise “Dot” Davis, age 96, of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on July 22, 1929, in Tallapoosa to Jesse and Hattie Cross Williams, she was a strong, independent, and tenacious woman who cherished her family, tended her garden with care, and remained deeply devoted to her hometown throughout her long life.

Affectionately known as Mama or Mama Dot to many, Doris lived with a quiet determination and a warm heart. She treasured the people she loved and held fast to the memories of her past, offering a steady presence that shaped the lives of those around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Davis; her sister, Millie McKenzie; and her brothers, Hoyt, Sydney, Len, Junior, Kenneth, and Charlie Williams.

Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Benita and Chris Davis of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jake Davis and Taylor Davis; and a host of extended relatives who will carry forward the love and values she so faithfully embodied.
