Doris Lee Presley Hodges, age 88 of Dadeville, AL; formerly of Henson Cove within Haywood County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 4, 2026, at her residence with family by her side.

Doris was born on April 27, 1937. She was the only daughter of Harden F. Presley and Gennieve Henson Presley. Doris was a Christian by faith, a member of Springhill Baptist Church, a talented piano player, athlete, avid reader, football, and basketball fan, loving wife, mother to many as there were always extra kids in the house, and always had time for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She impacted many lives as a Christian, and as a caring nurse with a career spanning 50+ years.

Survivors include daughter Rhonda of Dadeville, AL, sons Robbie (Janet) of Roanoke, AL, Richie (Shron) Auburn, AL, six Grandchildren Nikki, Jami, Bobby, Scott, Emily, and Daniel along with 10 Great-grandchildren. Three lifelong friends, which were classmates, and basketball teammates winning two state championships while in school at Bethel. Patsy, Gail, and Clara. Plus, friend YV and care giver Ms. Turner.

Funeral Services for Doris Lee Presley Hodges, NC will be held on Monday March 9, 2026, at 11:00am located at Wells Funeral Home in Canton, NC with Bro. Doug Henson and Richie Hodges officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be at held one hour prior starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Canton, NC.

Pallbearers will be: Robbie, Richie, Bobby, Scott, Daniel Hodges, and Andrew Freeman.

Flowers are welcome or donations can be made to the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery fund at 1918 Murray Rd, Canton, NC 28716.

A Celebration of Life in Mamaw Doris’ honor will be held in Roanoke, Alabama Sunday March 15, 2026, at 1:00PM at the Harmon Brothers gathering barn on Hwy 22 in the Dickert community. Food will be provided but feel free bring your favorite dish.

The family of Doris Lee Hodges has entrusted Wells Funeral Home of Canton with her care.
