Doris Jean Hunter, 86, of Youngstown, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Born on May 18, 1939, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Richard and Louise Heath King. A 1957 graduate of The Rayen School, Doris was a longtime member of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, where she faithfully served in the usher ministry. She found joy in cooking, baking, reading, shopping, and traveling, and remained a devoted fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She worked in quality control at Fresh Mark for more than 25 years before retiring.
She is survived by her two children, Rodney Hunter of Waco, Texas, and Rhonda (David) Clark of Temple, Texas; three grandchildren, Ebony, Ivy, and Saquonne Clark, all of Texas; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Avianna; and two sisters, Geraldine Grizzard and Victoria King, both of Youngstown. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, Beverly King and Eva King.
