Doris Giles, 88, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Merrimack Health Methuen Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on January 13, 1938, Doris was the daughter of the late William E. and Anna (Casse) Sullivan. Raised and educated in Lawrence, she made her home in Methuen for the past sixty years. She held her family close and found great joy in attending every gathering and celebration. A longtime parishioner of St. Lucy Church in Methuen, she worked as a record keeper at Merrimack News in Lawrence before retiring and later served part-time as a pharmacist assistant at Rite-Aid in Andover.
Doris cherished traveling with her husband, Richard, especially to Foxwoods and Las Vegas. In her later years she remained active at the Methuen Senior Center, where she was deeply involved with the Moving-On Group, a bereavement program that held special meaning for her. She looked forward to her weekly Wednesday lunches with friends and happily participated in games of 45’s and Bingo, as well as bus trips to local casinos.
She is survived by her sister Gertrude (Sullivan) Sirois and husband Jerry, her godchild and niece Darlene (Sirois) Thibodeau and husband Kevin, all of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and Darlene’s children Derek D’Anna and wife Amanda, their children Cameron, Laila, and Lincoln, and Stacey Brunelle and husband Jonathan, their children Bentley and Gianna, all of New Hampshire; niece Sharon (Amante) Tovey of North Hampton and her children, along with other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Giles.
