Doris Erma York

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Erma York of Monticello, Kentucky, who passed away on March 7, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Doris departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Doris. Though Doris may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Norfleet and Mary Norfleet (Zimmerman); her husband Phillip York; and her brothers, Jimmy Ray Norfleet and Harold Norfleet.

She is survived by: her siblings, Oscar Norfleet (Susie), Marlene McIntyre and Brenda Shrader (Ray). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel (647 N Main St, Monticello, KY 42633). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Monticello Masonic Lodge #431 Scholarship Fund.
