July 30, 1961— March 15, 2026
Conway, AR
Donny Lynn Johnston, 64, left us all too soon on Sunday, March 15, 2026. He was born, July 30, 1961, to Richard Johnston and Nina Ward Johnston in Conway, Arkansas.
He graduated in 1980 from Greenbrier High School. After graduation he joined his father in the daily operations of Conway Trophy and Awards until the business sold in 2001 and then he began a career as a property appraiser and created his own business, DLJ Appraisal. Donny cherished the values instilled in him from an early age. He loved reminiscing about his childhood and the treasured belongings that connected him to moments throughout his life, whether from days spent playing sports, especially golf, or the cards and music that filled his home.
He also had a playful, competitive side—one of his favorite pastimes was playing backgammon with his dear friend, Sam Nichols, sharing both strategy and laughter over countless games.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Johnston. He is survived by his mother, Nina, a brother, Mickey, a niece, Kinley, and countless family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Sam and Tina Nichols, very dear friends who provided consistent support and companionship.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Nichols, Justin Cooper, David Adlong, Barry Zellner, Paul Harrison.
Funeral will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Following the service there will be a private family burial.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Faulkner County Animal Shelter.
