Donnie Lee Barnes, Sr., 66, of High Point, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Hospice Home of High Point.
Born on January 18, 1960, in High Point, he was the son of the late Thel Hooks Barnes and the late Ola Mae Strickland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tammy Sue Heath Barnes, in 2010, and by Ellen Marie Tucker Barnes in 2024.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Lee Barnes, Jr., and wife Christy; his daughter, Penny Lynn Atkins, and husband Steve; his grandchildren, Alexa Barnes, Bentlee Barnes, Kaylee Barnes, Tiffany Stevens, and Cody Custard; his brother, Ricky Barnes, and wife Melanie; his sisters, Linda Muse, Patsy Barnes, and Kathy Parrish; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered with love by the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
