December 3, 1955— March 12, 2026
East Taunton, MA
Donna Viera, 70, of East Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, after a long illness. Born on December 3, 1955, in Taunton to Beatrice and John Viera, Donna attended St. Anthony’s for grammar school and Bishop Cassidy for high school before studying medical transcription and culinary arts at Johnson & Wales College.
A gifted intellect with an exceptional command of medical terminology, she applied her skills across several respected medical practices, including the VA Medical Hospital in Brockton and Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Later, she collaborated with her sister Lynne as an editor, bringing food stories and recipes to life through online videos featuring home cooks, chefs, farmers, and fishmongers.
Throughout her life, Donna showed remarkable kindness and selflessness, most notably as the devoted primary caregiver for her mother. She found profound joy in the company of dogs, both family pets and those she met on her travels at Massasoit State Park, the beach, dog parks, and city streets. Her cherished canine companions included Buddy, Pete, Max, Amelia, and Ginger. She also had a distinctive personal style, favoring vintage clothing that she wore with natural elegance, and she possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of television trivia while holding a deep love for Motown music.
Donna is survived by her mother, Beatrice Viera, and her six siblings and their families: Carol Viera and husband Norman Bolter; John Viera and wife Janice, along with their children John Viera III, Mallory Frank and husband Steve Frank, and grandchildren Stevie and Morgan; James Viera; Richard Viera and wife Susan; Tom and wife Renee, their daughter Kirby, stepson Allen Swift and wife Laura Jaycox, and their son Nathan; and Lynne Viera. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services. Those who loved her are invited to celebrate her beautiful and precious life in their own way.
