Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens after the services.She lived a life defined by dedication, strength, and deep love for her family more than any title or accomplishment, Donna was most proud of her family. She loved her children deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. Her strength, wisdom, and steady presence will live on in their hearts.She was a woman who believed in hard work, a value she carried into every part of her life. Donna, in her final years of working for the government, served as the Head of Security for the IRS, going on to retire at the age of 52. But retirement didn't slow her down. She continued working in the tax field until she was 83 - a testament to her dedication, expertise, and tireless spirit.For 28 years, Donna was a steady and trusted presence at the Knoxville Raceway, serving as a timekeeper and race scorer. Racing wasn't just something she did - it was something she loved. In 1999, she was inducted into the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame, a recognition that meant so much because it reflected her years of dedication. She shared that passion with her husband of 67 years, Durward (Dewey) Vert. In the racing community side by side, they built friendships and memories that spanned decades.She will be remembered for her loyalty, her work ethic, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed.She is survived by her daughters Linda Marks and Leanna (Dwight) Loomis, grandchildren, Christopher Marks, Suzanne (Todd) Lawler, Mark (Teri) Loomis, David (Eileen) Loomis; and 14 great grandchildren and 7 great - great -grandchildren. As well, she is survived by her sister, Jean Sheffer and many beloved nieces and nephews.Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Durward Vert; her son, Richard Vert. Her parents Thomas and Beatrice Edwards, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and her son-in-law Tom Marks.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Knoxville Hall of Fame.
