Donna M. Cacciato

Donna Marie Cacciato, 77, of Brookfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on August 24, 1948, in White Plains, New York, to Domenick and Ida Tascio, Donna graduated from White Plains High School in 1966. She married the love of her life, Guy Cacciato, in September 1968, shortly after his return from service in the United States Marine Corps. Together they raised their son, Christopher, born in 1971, and their daughter, Melanie, born in 1976. The family lived in New York until moving to Brookfield, Connecticut, in 1988, where Donna worked as a paraprofessional in the Brookfield Public Schools for more than twenty years, forming many lifelong friendships.

Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished the annual vacations spent in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and Narragansett, Rhode Island, where she loved relaxing on the beach and dancing in the kitchen with her granddaughters in the evenings. She also took special delight in gathering everyone for the holidays and spoiling her granddaughters with thoughtful gifts.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Guy Cacciato; her son, Chris Cacciato (Rachel); her daughter, Melanie Awerdick (Marc); her brother, Robert Tascio (Janet); her nephew, Jeffrey Tascio; and her granddaughters, Madison Tyrrell (Jason), Lilah, and Sydney Cacciato.
