Donna L. TroxelCedar RapidsDonna L. Troxel, age 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on March 10, 2026, due to complications of dementia. Born July 30, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, she was the daughter of Marvin R. and Marian G. Little. Donna graduated from Franklin High School in 1954 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1958. She was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.Upon graduation, Donna relocated to New York City to begin her nursing career at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. She married William J. Moran in May 1960, and together they had three children. In 1970, the family moved to Iowa. Donna and Bill later divorced, and she married Dr. John F. Troxel in November 1979.Throughout her distinguished career, Donna worked for several healthcare systems and served in the emergency departments at both hospitals in Cedar Rapids. She retired in 2002.Donna found enjoyment traveling the country with John in their RV, as well as sewing and crafting greeting cards.She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; and stepson, Robert.Donna is survived by her children: Bill (Marty) Moran, Deb (Tim) Shafar, and Katie (Steve) Oberbroeckling; stepchildren: Richard (Susan) Troxel; daughter-in-law LeAnne Troxel; Martha and Mary Troxel; brother David Little; as well as three grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.In accordance with Donna's wishes, no service will be held. Donna was cremated, with Inurnment planned for a later date. The family thanks Keystone Cedars and Hospice of Mercy for Donna's care.
