Donna Kertis

Donna Kertis, age 78, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 7, 2026, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Born on April 19, 1947, to Steve and Amanda (Saeger) Kertis, Donna lived a full and hardworking life. She spent many years employed at Morgan Doors, Rockwell, and Oshkosh Truck before later bartending, providing in-home care, and most recently working as a cashier at Walmart for the past decade.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Beth) Brewer and their children, Rey (Lita) and Aiden; her daughter, Amanda (John) Peterson and their daughter, Harper; and her great-grandchildren, Bryson Sobojinski, Reuben and Ivy Granberg. She is further survived by her brothers, Dale and Jim (Jeanette); sister-in-law, Kathy Kertis; her faithful companion, Moose the cat; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Birdine (Donald); brothers, Richard, Gil (Rachel) and Laverne (Carol) Kertis; her former husband, Richard Brewer; and her beloved fur companions, Tom, Sam and Buddy.

Per her wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of her life will take place in early summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s name to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
