Donna Kay Basey

Donna Kay Basey, 85, of New Castle, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Born on June 24, 1940, to Tyrus V. and Thelma L. Reynolds, she was a 1958 graduate of Cadiz High School and a lifelong resident of Henry County.

Donna spent her early years working on the family farm alongside her father and sister. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who dedicated her life to helping others. Always just a phone call away, she found joy in tending her flower beds and worked as a nurse’s aide and home health care aide while raising her children.

She is survived by her children, Gerald Boling Jr., Donald (Pam) Boling, Sharon Murali, and Catherine (Joseph) Jackson; stepchildren, Robert Allen (Vicki) Basey and Donna Lou Basey; grandchildren, Kent Boling, Amber (Christopher) Shallenberger, Chelsea Boling, Ashley (Michael-John) Waite, Brittany (Mike Cupps) Jackson, Alaina Murali, and Keegan Murali; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two step-grandsons; and two step great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Melvin Basey; her sister, Patricia Jo; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
