June 4, 1942— March 5, 2026
Topeka, KS
Donna Jean White, 83, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born in Topeka on June 4, 1942, she was the daughter of Clyde and Thelma McMullen Heston. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1960 and attended Washburn University. On August 6, 1960, Donna married Dennis “Denny” White at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka.
Donna worked at Dillons, R.A. Fulmer Company, Bauersfeld’s Grocery, Grace Cathedral, and the Courthouse, yet she always said her most cherished roles were those of Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. A devoted sports enthusiast, she particularly loved softball, coaching her daughters and faithfully attending countless games for family members across generations. In her quieter moments she found joy in genealogy, collecting unique rocks, painting, and creating delightful sand and snow sculptures.
She is survived by her husband, Denny; daughters Denise White, Dena Shaw, Danielle White, and Lyni Hohner (Justin); granddaughters Haley Pate and Hiré Taylor; great-grandchildren Hezekiah Pate and Ava White; brother Dr. Tim Heston (Debbie); and sister-in-law Sherry Heston. Donna was preceded in death by her daughter Donje White, her parents, brother Ron Heston, sister Marlene Meek, and her beloved dog Zeb, who accompanied her everywhere.
