Mrs. Donna Gail Adkins Lawson, age 58, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home. Born on January 23, 1968, in Martinsville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Raymond Adkins and Peggy Goard Fleeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmanuel Terry Lawson.
A faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church, Donna had a deep love for photography. She spent many happy hours capturing images of natural scenery during her travels, often accompanying her late husband, Terry, on his work trips and while they hunted together. She was known for her generous spirit and warm heart, maintaining close and loving relationships with her family and friends. She shared a special bond with her in-laws in the Lawson family, speaking often and with great affection of their strong character and devotion to one another. Donna was also the godmother of Autumn Bolt née Lawson.
She is survived by her brothers, Jimmy Lawson (Janet), Odell Lawson (Penny), Lee Lawson (Lisa), Johnny Lawson (Stephanie), Ronnie Lawson (Tammy), Garland Lawson (Jenny), all of Patrick County, Virginia, and Freddie Parker (Mary) of Tennessee; her sisters, Nancy Sue Spencer of Cana, Virginia, Amanda Chavez and Arlene Bullins, both of Patrick County, Virginia; nephews Jimmy Spencer (Natalie) and Andreas Mota; niece Samantha Mota; and many other aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her caring nature and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
