August 3, 1939— March 9, 2026
Reynoldsburg, OH
Donna Carroll King, 86, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on August 3, 1939, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Harold and Marceline (Carroll) Beuhring, Donna lived a life marked by independence, creativity, and quiet strength. She worked for many years in sales at JCPenney and was a gifted seamstress who took great pride in her craftsmanship. A devoted mother, she is remembered above all for the love she showed her son, Bruce Allen McKeand.
From an early age, Donna’s faith was central to her life. At 13, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Shoals Baptist Church in Lavalette, West Virginia, and carried that faith with her throughout her years. She possessed a remarkable independent spirit and strong work ethic, finding joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. Her family lovingly called her the “Queen of DIY,” and even in her later years she could often be found climbing a ladder or repairing the roof at age 85, determined to fix whatever needed attention.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry King; her parents, Harold and Marceline Beuhring; and her brothers, Jim and Larry Beuhring. She is survived by her son, Bruce Allen McKeand, and daughter-in-law, Kim McKeand; her grandchildren, Jarrett Dunbar, Nicole Wakeling, and Brandon McKeand; and her great-grandchildren, Lukas Dunbar, Makayla Dunbar, Finley Wakeling, and Seren Parks. She also cherished the deep friendships she shared with Peggy Ferguson and “Z” Lawson.
