Donald Wake Moore

Donald Wake Moore, 93, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Born on November 18, 1932, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Wake Columbus Moore and Burma Wilson Moore, Don proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his deep sense of duty and love of country. After his military service, he enjoyed a successful career as a Senior Engineer with Southern Bell, where his dedication and strong work ethic earned the lasting respect of colleagues and friends.

A man of deep faith, Don loved the Lord. Known for his ready smile and the best whistle one could hope to hear, he was always quick to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and strangers alike.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Davis Moore; daughters, Lisa Moore and Wanda Moore Bailey (Michael); seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Don Moore II.
