Donald R. Xander, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away on March 3, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.
Born on February 4, 1949, Donald was the beloved son of the late Georgiana (Deily) and Floyd Xander. On December 27, 1969, he married the love of his life, Barbara Theresa Xander, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than five decades.
He was a loving, generous man who brought laughter wherever he went. Known for his quick wit and warm heart, Donald was always ready with a joke and found great joy in making others smile.
Donald had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed writing poetry, listening to jazz music, and spending time on the golf course. He also cherished time with his family and took pride in planning memorable vacations, especially trips to Wildwood and Ocean City, where countless family memories were made.
Donald served his country honorably in the United States Navy, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life. He later worked for many years as a Shipping Manager at Bethlehem Steel until its closure in 1995.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Theresa Xander; his two children, Tracy Hartman and Chad (Angela) Xander; two cherished grandchildren, Alison (John) Hoffman and Aden Xander; his brother, Dan T. Xander; and his sister, Dee Vadimsky.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kathy Hartman.
In accordance with Donald's wishes, services will be held privately.
Donald's legacy of laughter, love, and devotion to family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
