Donald Robert Huff

Donald Robert Huff, 86, of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Born in Massillon on September 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Ferne E. (Jackson) Huff. A graduate of Orrville High School with the Class of 1957, Don worked at Fouche’s Grocery and Young’s IGA in Orrville before beginning a 40-year career with the J.M. Smucker Co., from which he retired. He also served honorably for six years as a sergeant in the Ohio Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969.

Don was a devoted fan of Cleveland baseball and followed both Orrville High School and Massillon football, often listening to the games on his transistor radio. He found great satisfaction in his involvement with church groups, where he was always willing to lend a hand. He was a longtime member of the Orrville Jaycees and served as treasurer of the Ohio National Guard Alumni Association.

Predeceased by his parents, his sister Janice (Huff) Crawfis, and his son-in-law Ronald Knopp, Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susanne (Shanklin) Huff, their daughter Tricia (Huff) Knopp, and two granddaughters, Kari (Ford) Ellis and Kelle (Nathaniel) Moore III.
