Donald Richard Flick

Donald Richard Flick of Holyoke, Massachusetts, passed away on February 27, 2026, at Holyoke Medical Center with his dear friend of 55 years, Michael Dudley, by his side. Son of the late Joseph and Madeline (Dumberger) Flick, he was predeceased by his brothers Edward P. Flick and his twin brother David J. Flick, as well as his nephews Dennis E. Flick, David P. Flick, and Richard E. Flick.

Donald lived a richly varied life, working as a hair stylist, toy store owner, house restorer, and dedicated dog rescuer. For twenty years he served as a facilities manager in Washington, caring for Presidents and many of the capital’s most influential citizens. The letters he received upon his retirement spoke eloquently of the admiration and respect he had earned. Generous with his many talents, he was a caregiver without equal, always ready to help others. Above all, he gave and received love throughout his life, leaving behind a void that cannot be filled.

He is survived by his brother Joseph T. Flick and his wife Edna; his nieces Madeline DeBonis (Lucian) and Lisa A. Woodard (Lloyd); his nephew Joseph B. Flick (Gloria); and his great-nieces and great-nephews Edward H. Flick (Anna), Jennifer T. DeBonis, Paul DeBonis (Maria), Joseph T. Flick (Kelly), John K. Flick (Samantha), Paige E. Helms (Josh), Daniel P. Stafford (Eirini), and Diana Woodard. He is also survived by his cousins Mary Williams (Brad) and Dyana Lee.
