Donald Ray Stryker, beloved cousin, passed away unexpectedly on March 10,2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 6, 1947, in Clifton, Texas. Don’s father Clarence (Billy) Stryker was in the army and was assigned to multiple posts around the world during Don’s formative years. Several posts including Massachusetts, Iran and Okinawa were home to the family. He graduated from high school while in Tehran, Iran in 1966.
Don attended North Texas State University in 1967 and 1968 after returning to the US from Iran. He attended for three years before joining the Air Force.
Don enlisted in the Air Force and served four years. While assigned to Alaska, he suffered eye injuries that led to his honorable discharge in 1973. He then enrolled at the University of Texas and graduated in 1974 with a BA degree
He met his wife Judy while they were both in the Air Force. She was a nurse while in the service. They were married in 1970 and remained inseparable for the next 54 years until Judy’s death. They enjoyed traveling and visited many states from Washington to Minnesota.
Don worked in several different areas before entering the data processing industry in the years following his military service. He worked in the finance business supporting Insurance companies processes with programming expertise for several years prior to retiring.
Donald touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and the countless memories shared with those who knew him best. He was always willing to talk to anyone and never met a stranger.
He is survived by several cousins as well as many cherished friends. Donald’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held on March 27, 2026, 2:00 PM, at Clifton Funeral Home.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
