Donald Ray Hunsaker SR.

Donald Ray Hunsaker Sr., age 89, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026. Born on February 5, 1937, in Mansfield, Missouri, to Hervel and Juanita (Bailey) Hunsaker, he grew up with a strong sense of responsibility that would shape his life.

In 1972, Donald married Sherry Waterman in Nogales, Mexico. Their marriage of more than five decades was marked by deep partnership, mutual respect, and enduring love. He built a successful career in the automotive industry, owning and operating Riverside Motor Company from the 1980s until 2001, and later Hunsaker Auto Group. Donald took genuine pride in his work and in forming lasting relationships with his customers through honesty and hard work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Daniel, his daughter Donna, and his brother Ronald. Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry Hunsaker; his sons, Donald Hunsaker Jr. and Kenny Hunsaker; his grandchildren Halle, Hope, Harlee, Elizabeth, Jessica, and Adam; his great-grandchildren Luke, Lily, and Dayton; his great-great-grandchild Maverick Ray; his niece Erin; and many other nieces and nephews who held him dear.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his steadfast reliability, and his quiet dedication to family and friends. Those who knew him could always count on him to lend a hand when it was needed.
