Donald Peltier ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home - Alvin on Mar. 17, 2026.Donald Ray Peltier, 88, of Rockport, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Pearland, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 31, 1937, in Concordia, Kansas, and grew up in Aransas Pass, Texas, where he formed lifelong ties to the Texas Gulf Coast that shaped much of his life.Donald was a standout multi-sport athlete at Aransas Pass High School, excelling in football, basketball, and track. His athletic talent carried him to Trinity University, where he played both basketball and football. He later continued his football career on the United States Marine Corps National Team. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps as a member of the Military Police, an experience that instilled in him the discipline, integrity, and sense of duty that defined his life.Following his military service, Donald built a respected career as a Master Custom Home Builder. He received numerous awards from the Houston Homebuilder's Association and was known for his craftsmanship, his dedication to quality, and the pride he took in every home he created. His work left a lasting mark on the communities he served.On October 11, 1959, Donald married Connie Zay (Fatheree) Peltier, and together they raised four children: Vera Beth (Peltier) Brown Brock, Jeffrey Neal Peltier, Todd Andrew Peltier, and Russell Ray Peltier. Connie passed away on September 6, 1978, after her own battle with cancer. Their son, Russell Ray Peltier, later passed away in 2020, also following a battle with cancer.Donald later married Carole (Fuchs) Johnson Peltier on August 22, 1980, and welcomed William "Billy" Jack Johnson into the family.Donald is survived by his wife, Carole; his children, Vera Beth (Peltier) Brown Brock (husband, Robert Brock), Jeffrey Neal Peltier (wife, Karyn [Newman] Peltier), and Todd Andrew Peltier (wife, Debbie [Gooden] Peltier), William "Billy" Jack Johnson (wife, Dianna [Lakin] Johnson); twelve grandchildren-Michael Brown, Brandi (Brown) Reid, Shikara (Brown) White, Lauryn Zay (Peltier) Duran, Mitchell D. Peltier, Allison B. (Peltier) Gonzales, Brittany (Mann) Morton, Christopher McGilvray, Garrett Peltier, Gavin Peltier, Cole Johnson, and Avery Johnson; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.Donald is also remembered with love by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law from both of his marriages, nephews and nieces, lifelong friends, all of whom held a special place in his life.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie; his son, Russell; his parents, Cyril Mitchell Peltier and Cordelia Elizabeth (Dumas) Peltier; his sister, Betty Ann (Peltier) Moses; and his brother, Carl Harold Lloyd "Jackie" Anderson Peltier.Interment will be on Tuesday, March 31,2026 at 1:45 PM in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home 1421 E. Hwy 6, Alvin, Texas 77511 on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
