Donald Taylor ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Waxahachie Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2026.Donald Lynch Taylor was born October 22, 1932, in Scott City, KS to Jay Taylor and Grace Lynch Taylor. He received his heavenly reward on March 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his daughter, Kimela Taylor, and his great-granddaughter, Rebecca Rennie. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Ann Stiggins Taylor, daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Charles Blair, and Cindy and Raymond Couch; grandchildren Angela and Stuart Rennie, Candy and Andy Watkins, Michael and Cheré Blair, Sherry and Darren Bowles, and Crystal and Mekko Tabbytite; great-grandchildren Ashley, Montgomery, Christopher, Kimberly, Ash, Brooke, Scott, Aidan, and Asher; great-great granddaughter Eliza, and nieces LuJuana Turley, Christina King, and Nancy Temple.Don was devoted to his family, caring for his wife and encouraging his family until his final days. He loved to study God's word, amassing a library that would be the envy of a seminary student. He was a lifelong tradesman who served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War. He loved working with his hands, but he also had a keen intellect and a wonderful way with words. He had a green thumb and maintained a beautifully landscaped lawn even after he had to walk with a cane. He loved animals, often caring for strays over the years and regularly getting into trouble for giving too many treats to his grand-dogs. He was treasured by all who knew him for his gentle strength, his wisdom, and his kindness. Though he never preached a sermon, Don's life was a testament of God's love and grace. If you would like to honor Don's life with a gift, please donate in his name to First Christian Church of Waxahachie or The Gideons International.https://www.fccwaxahachie.org/https://gideons.org/donateTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
