Koskelin, 73, passed away at home on March 8, 2026, in Riverdale, New Jersey.Born on April 17, 1952, in Eagle River, Wisconsin, Don was the son of the late Leo and Lillian Koskelin. Don served in the military as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineering while earning his Bachelor's Degree. Later he became the Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager of the City of Alamosa until he was able to retire to the East Coast to be close to his daughters and their families.Don had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found great joy in nature. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending quiet time outside, embracing the simple beauty of the natural world. He loved watching his grandkids pursue their interests and was their biggest fan.In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Steven Koskelin, and his sister, Susan Johnston. He is survived by his beloved wife, UnMi Koskelin; his daughters, Marie Johnsson and her husband Adam Johnsson, Rachel Koskelin and her husband Alexander Susse; his brother, David Koskelin; and his sisters, Joy Koskelin and Kathy Hotovec. He is also lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren, Lillian, Henrik, and Jacob.In accordance with Donald's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, buy yourself a beer and enjoy some time outdoors.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
