Donald L. Witte Sr.

Donald L. Witte Sr., age 83, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born in Grantsville, West Virginia on June 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Dorsey Witte and Laurel (Bourne) Price.

Donald proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He spent 28 years as a millwright machinist at the DuPont Company before retiring. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. He found joy in restoring classic cars, yet nothing meant more to him than creating lasting memories with his family.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen M. (O’Neill) Witte, and his siblings, Warren Witte and Thelma Nichols. He is survived by his children, Donald Witte Jr. (Djuna), Brian Witte (Jennifer), Keith Witte (Jennifer), and Jenny Vanaskey (Ben); his sister, Diane Fetter (Richard); grandchildren, Donald III (Amber), Christopher, Ashley (Dan), Courtlyn, Jared, Madelyn, Mackenzie, Hannah, Grace, and Colin; and great-grandchildren, Easton, Knox, Danny, Beckett, Mia, Maven, Hayes, and Noah.
