Donald L. "D.L." Ryman Jr.

Donald Lee (D.L.) Ryman Jr., 73, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his home after a long illness. A graveside service with military honors by Woodstock American Legion Post #199 will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. Pastor Brian Duncan will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the cemetery or prior to the service at his home at 2123 Back Road, Woodstock at any time.Mr. Ryman was born September 4, 1952, in Woodstock, son of Dorothy P. Ryman and the late Donald Ryman Sr. He was a 1970 graduate of Central High School and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Korea where he was a member of the Finance Core. He worked in the construction industry and Blue Ridge Truss in Basye for 30 years and Glaise Components. He was a member of Woodstock Christian Church and Woodstock American Legion Post #199. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.D.L. is survived by his wife, Patricia B. Ryman; son, Christopher (Chris) Ryman (Amy), granddaughter, Brooklyn Ryman; grandson, Cayden Ryman; mother, Dorothy Pence Ryman; stepdaughter, Amy Wetzel; sister, Patti Layman, (Mike); nephews, Mark Ryman (Michelle), Jeff (J.D.) Ryman (Kelly) and Brett Layman (Jody).He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael (Mike) Allen Ryman and William Randal Ryman; stepdaughter, Heather L. Wetzel and granddaughter, Allissa Ryman.Pallbearers will be Cayden Ryman, Mark Ryman, Jeff Ryman, Brett Layman, Jody Bradley and Robert Vaughn Jr.Honorary pallbearers will be Thurman Vann, Chad Sheetz, Gerald Sherman, Dale Wetzel, Mike Layman, Amy Wetzel and Brooklyn Ryman.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Woodstock Volunteer Fire Department or the Woodstock Rescue Squad.
