Donald L. Koskelin

Donald L. Koskelin, 73, of Riverdale, New Jersey, passed away at home on March 8, 2026. Born on April 17, 1952, in Eagle River, Wisconsin, Don was the son of the late Leo and Lillian Koskelin. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers while earning his bachelor’s degree. He went on to become Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager for the City of Alamosa, Colorado, before retiring to the East Coast to be near his daughters and their families.

Don had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace and joy in nature. He was an avid woodworker and fisherman who cherished quiet time spent outside. He took great delight in his grandchildren’s lives and was their proudest supporter.

In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother Steven Koskelin and his sister Susan Johnston. He is survived by his beloved wife, UnMi Koskelin; his daughters, Marie Johnsson and her husband Adam Johnsson, and Rachel Koskelin and her husband Alexander Susse; his brother David Koskelin; his sisters Joy Koskelin and Kathy Hotovec; and his three cherished grandchildren, Lillian, Henrik, and Jacob.
