Donald Eisterhold ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - Tomball on Mar. 7, 2026.DONALD "DON" JOSEPH EISTERHOLD, born April 2, 1945 in Osage, Iowa son of Jacob and Josephine Eisterhold. He was raised on a farm with daily chores before he went to school at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He attended Adam's High School and Austin-Area Vocational Institute in MN where he participated in FFA raising cows and played baseball for the school. Don married Mary on August 10, 1974 at St. Gall's Catholic Church in Tintah, MN and raised a family in Houston, TX.Don's first job was cutting hair in a barber shop at 11975 North Freeway and shifted careers to carpentry work as he loved working with his hands. He began his career in carpentry where he joined the Carpenters Union Local 551 where he worked in various buildings all over Houston and surrounding areas such as the George R Brown Convention Center, Anadarko Building, Walgreens Stores, Katy Mills Mall, the Budweiser Brewery and many more. Over the 50 years of service for the union he earned the hours to become a Master Carpenter for Carpenters Union 551. Not only did he love working hard, he enjoyed spending time with others, play cards, having conversation or watching the Houston Astros game. And no matter what you were doing, cooking, working on a car, a fence, he was right there offering help or to give his expertise. He served at Assumption Parish Church for over 50 years where he became a 3rd Night Degree for the Knights of Columbus and gave back to his community by volunteering his time singing in the men's choir, handing out coffee and donuts in the church gym, working Friday night bingo, annual church bazaar and other events.Don was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Josephine, sister Karen, and son in law Earl. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary. Sisters: Diane and Kathy. Children: Leon and Amy, Lisa, and Frank and Heather, Tammy and Ed. Grandchildren: Heaven, Cameron, Destiny, Ethan, DeLanie, Blake, Brandon, MaKaylie, Joey. Great-Grandchildren: Hudson and Lynzee. And numerous other relatives and friends.A visitation with the family will be at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball on Friday March 20, 2026, from 4-8 PM with a rosary at 7PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026 at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball at 10:00 AM Concluding services Don will be laid to rest at Klein Memorial Park.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
