He was predeceased by: his parents, George Graham and Jenny Helan Hessong (Wilson); his wife Barbara (Barbara); his siblings, Robert Graham Hessong, Jimmy Hessong, Helen Singleton, Gladys Gearheart and Betty Bolander; and his nephews, George Michael Hessong and Christopher Mark Bolander.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Gail Hessong, Shirley Ann Hessong and Donald Wayne Hessong (Kristi); his grandchildren, Samantha Anne Thompson, Kody Thompson, Jesi Hessong Brown (Ross), Hannah Peterson (Chris), Tirzah Brogdon (Gabe Cabrera), Noah Brogdon (Megan) and Mayah Brogdon; his great grandchildren, Astrid Thompson, Harper Brown, Piper Brown and Cameron Peterson; and his foster children, Vernon Rider, Randy Riddle, Renee Morgan, Eddie and Robert Morgan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Valley Baptist Church (8221 FM 1681, Nixon, TX 78140). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Memory Gardens of Edna (1300 N Kleas St, Edna, TX 77957).
