Donald Edward Smith, known affectionately as “Big Don” and “Teflon Don,” was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 6, 1944 and passed away on March 10, 2026 at the age of 81.
Born into a large family, Donald learned the value of hard work early in life. He married Wylyne Verlynda Smith of Pulaski, Tennessee, and together they raised three daughters: Dionne Renee Smith Burns, Shannen Leah Heyman (James), and Camille Evon Smith. He spent many years employed by Ford Motor Company before retiring and founding his own successful business, Male Logistics II.
Donald was known for his generous spirit and his willingness to help others. He touched many lives through his giving nature and took great pride in his responsibilities as a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Above all, he lived as a devoted child of God.
He leaves behind his daughters, their children, and countless others whose lives he touched. Whether remembered as Daddy, Uncle Don, Mr. Don, Don, Mr. Smith, Brother Smith, or Ed, Donald Edward Smith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
