Thompson, Jr., and Mary Katharine Brown Thompson. He is proceeded in death by his son, Harold Edmond Thompson and brother James Walter Thompson, Sr.Eddie was married to the LOVE of his life, Eva Morgan Thompson, for 56 years. He is survived by a brother, John B. Thompson, III (Linda), and a sister, Cathy Thompson Spivey (Mike); nieces, Tina McDonald Cannady (Dal), Christy Thompson Gilbert, Ashley Thompson Simmons (Miles), Lindsey Thompson Miller (Dennis), Nephews Jay Thompson (Laura), Kenneth McDonald (Laura), Jaime Thompson (Shondee), Grandson Donald James Thompson, and several grand nieces and nephews.His father served in the United States Air Force, so they traveled a bit; Warner Robins, Mobile, Japan, and Maine. When Eddie was 9, they returned to Savannah, where he grew up. He attended Jacob G. Smith, Wilder, and Savannah High schools.Eddie then joined the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of airman 2nd class. During this time, he served at Charleston AFB, South Carolina and Clear Mews AFB, Alaska as a Security Policeman. After his Air Force service, he returned to Savannah to pursue a career as a locksmith. This led to a lifelong employment with the federal government at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah Ga.Eddie enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on projects around the house. But most especially he enjoyed traveling and camping with his loving wife.Eddie will be greatly missed by all the family who love him greatly.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
