Donald E. “Donny” Kean, of Bolivar and formerly of Leasburg, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 54. Born on September 15, 1971, in Salem, Missouri, Donny’s warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him.
A man who never met a stranger, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved casting a line at his favorite fishing spots, sharing laughter with friends during Monday night bowling, and wandering the aisles of Bass Pro. He took great pride in his collection of Mossy Oak camouflage, cheered passionately for the Kansas City Chiefs, and was captivated by the excitement of sprint car races.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Lee and O. Imogene (Koepke) Kean, and his sister, Jacqueline Lafferty.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Gilbert Lee (Patti) Kean, Jr. of Columbia, Tammy (Don) Hutchison of Sullivan, Margaret (Mark) Disbrow of Rolla, and Lori (Terry) Santonge of Wichita, Kansas; his brother-in-law, Dennis Lafferty of Fair Grove; and his dear caregivers and friends from Firefly—Jeff, Dennison, Navara, Brenna, and Tony—along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
