Donald D. "Mac" McCormick, Jr.Donald D. "Mac" McCormick, Jr., age 76 of Midland, passed away at his home on March 12, 2026. He was born in Trieste, Italy on April 6, 1949, to the late Donald D. McCormick, Sr. and Anna M. (Arnaude) McCormick.Mac's life was marked by his service to his country and community. This began with his enlistment in the United States Army in 1968. He served in both the Vietnam War and Persian Gulf War. Upon coming home, he continued to work with the military as a mechanic while also serving with the Homer Twp Fire Department for 30 years. He then went on to work with Wilson MILLER Funeral Home as a funeral assistant for 10 years.He was a proud member of the VFW Midland Post 3651, Amvet's Post 3652, and American Legion Midland Post 443. He volunteered alongside his comrades in these posts in the Midland Honor Guard, presenting funeral honors to many fallen veterans. In his spare time, Mac enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.On July 16, 2005, Mac married the former Penny Shobe, and they shared 20 years together. Also surviving is his son, Frank (Jamie) Kaweck; siblings, Brian (Lisa) McCormick, David (Cindy) McCormick, Jim (Melissa) McCormick; and stepbrother, Chuck (Vivian). Don was preceded in death by his parents and stepmom, Lois McCormickA funeral service to honor Mac's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 20, 2026, at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. His comrades, the Midland Honor Guard and United States Army will present full military honors. Private burial will be in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
