Donald Charles Clamon, Sr.
Church Hill, TN
Donald Charles Clamon, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at his home in Church Hill, Tennessee, surrounded by his family. Born on December 7, 1943, to the late James Charles “JC” and Edna (Cowden) Clamon, Don grew up with his childhood best friend James Adams. In December 1961, the two enlisted together in the US Navy, where Don served for three years.
After returning to civilian life, Don worked in several trades but found his greatest satisfaction building homes alongside his son Harry at Clamon Homebuilders. A skilled craftsman, he remained active on job sites until very recently, even after a brief retirement that ended when he showed up one day asking what they were working on. He cherished the friendships formed through his work and the stories shared there. In his free time, Don enjoyed flea markets, driving antique cars with his son Chuck, and fishing at his lake house in Bean Station.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jewel Clamon, his brother Jimmy Clamon, and his lifelong friend James Adams. Don is survived by his sister Nancy Reed (David); sons Donald Charles “Chuck” Clamon, Jr. (Beverly) and Harry Clamon (Amy); bonus daughter Rhonda Givens (David); grandchildren Cameron Clamon (Eden), Caleb Clamon, Chandler Clamon, Austin Clamon (Jasmine), Savannah Biddinger (Nick), Rachael Clamon, and Madison Givens; and great-grandchildren Brooke Biddinger, Cali Clamon (due in May), and Addison Bailey.
