Bassler Sr., 88, of Coopersburg, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Coopersburg, he was a son of the late Harvey and Mildred (Krasley) Bassler. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Lychak) Bassler, who passed away in 2023.A graduate of Coopersburg High School, he was employed by the County of Lehigh in the trades/maintenance department, retiring after many years. Prior to that, he was employed by Mack Trucks, also the former Kern's Franklin Repair Service and Luv American Motors, both as an auto mechanic.Donald was a member of the former Moravian Church of Coopersburg. He was also a member of the Coopersburg Historical Society. He was an avid collector of antique scales, clocks, and cars, to mention a few. He enjoyed displaying his cars in the annual Coopersburg Halloween Parade.He was predeceased by his parents, wife, sister Nancy, stepson Jeffrey Erney, and granddaughter Samantha. He is survived by sons Donald Jr (Janeen Brida) of Coopersburg PA, and Gary (Rachel) of Cantonment Fl, daughter Amy Huffman (Larry) of Harleysville PA, stepdaughter Susan Erney-Gleason (Kevin) of Spring City PA, brother Richard of Coopersburg PA, grandchildren Rachel, Daniel, Crystal, Gary, Jasmine, Tammy, Alyssa, Mackenzie, Cory and Julia, twelve great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.A viewing will be held on Tuesday March 3, 2026, at 11am followed by a service at 12 noon at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101 N.
