Don W. Moser, age 83, of Shawano, Wisconsin, passed away in the early morning hours of March 10, 2026, at River’s Bend Health Services in Manitowoc after a long battle with complications from gallbladder surgery.
Born at home on April 4, 1942, in Thornapple, Wisconsin, to the late Alfred Moser and Ethel (Ducommun) Solie, Don attended school in Ladysmith before enlisting in the United States Navy at age 17. He served honorably for four years, patrolling the Western Pacific. Following his military service, he worked in various roles within the oil and fire prevention industries. He was the proud owner of Underwriters Fire Protection in Manitowoc until his retirement in the late 1990s. In retirement, he continued working as an apartment manager for Nature’s Way Estates in Shawano until 2023.
Fifty-five years ago, on February 16, 1971, Don married Nancy Parworth of Manitowoc. Together they raised four children. In their later years, they enjoyed traveling the country in their RV. When not on the road with Nancy, Don could often be found hunting antelope in Wyoming with friends or searching for the perfect fishing spot to catch walleye.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Moser; children Dawn Ouradnik of Colorado Springs, Tammy (Kevin) McVeigh of Grafton, Wisconsin, Todd (Michelle) Hebel of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Kerry (Steve) Junk of Shawano, and Kelly Moser of California; grandchildren Joshua Smith, Sean Dineen, Jeremy Hebel, Corey Dineen, Kelly Rechcygl, Amanda Purvis, and Taylor Junk; great-grandchildren; special nephew Brian Van Zon; fishing buddy and dear friend Mike Murphy; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, bonus father Sieve Solie, and son Shawn Moser.
